The Store - More to Come!
Steve & Buddy - 1982
Steve Palousek's 2007 release is a collection of instrumentals featuring the steel guitar. Steve has included original compositions with country, jazz and gospel greats. This 13 song CD was produced, recorded and mixed by Steve Palousek at Awesome Works Recording in Holland, Texas USA . " Let The Games Begin" gets it's title from the mouth of steel guitar great, Buddy Emmons......
The Liner Notes:
"I first met Steve Palousek in the 1980's while holding a weeklong workshop at the Jeffran College of Pedal Steel in Hermitage, Tennessee. Toward the end of the week, Steve was not only playing some of the more difficult phrases I had prepared for the class but, playing them exceptionally well. Needless to say, I was impressed, but later shocked to hear that he was disappointed in his performance that week and in tears as Jeff Newman drove him to the airport. It was hard to understand at first. But then I reminded myself that there were times in my past when I thought playing good was not enough. I knew then that he would be okay.
Now, over twenty years later, Steve has lived up to my expectations with his dexterity, tone, speed and command of both the C6th and E9th tunings. He's the kind of musician who strives to reach beyond his years of experience and I'm happy to be able to say I played a small part in giving him a kick-start. From Jazz to Country, there is much to draw from on this CD. So, listen to it a few times. Pick a favorite. Then, sit down at your steel and let the games begin."

A Lesson for Any Level...
The DVD's are just shy of 2 hours. Steve does not teach songs in these videos, he teaches the techniques needed to play any song that requires the E9th or C6th tuning. He does refer to some songs, but does not teach the full song.
If you are not familiar with the old series....he starts by going over the pedal setup and tuning. The screen is split in three sections, where you can see the top of the guitar, his right hand, and his feet and knees. You will learn theory, scales and how and why the scales fit over the chord progressions. Each lesson is just shy of 2 hours long. There are also backing tracks along the way to practice what you have just learned. These instructionals were originally done when he was in his 20's and are still some of the most sought after today. You won't be disappointed....never had any of them returned!
If you are just ordering one, it is $40.00, two or more of any of the DVD's drops the price to $30.00 each. Once you have ordered, any future purchases will be $30.00 each regardless of how many you order!
